Emily and her parents contacted us while they were visiting Charleston for summer vacation, hoping to squeeze in Emily’s senior photoshoot. They kept mentioning how they didn’t want the typical high school senior pictures taken in the cafeteria with a portable backdrop, and how they did want something more genuine and creative. Knowing they were coming to Charleston, they did some research and came across our page. Scrolling through slide after slide of senior photos, they told us when we spoke over the phone they were impressed with every photo. Not only were we able to give Emily and her parents photo’s that blew them away, but we provided them a day full of memorable experiences.
As with many of our clients, Emily knew downtown was one of the locations she wanted to have some shots taken. Her classy, yet young personality was a great compliment to the historical, rustic edginess Charleston is known for. Placing her in front of some of the best grand entrances to historical houses and leaned up against the barkless trees, Todd was able to pair Emily’s simple, yet colorful outfits with neutral backgrounds. When Todd showed her and her parents the shots on the back of his camera, their faces lit up with excitement. They knew these photos would provide them with a lifetime of memories.
After exploring downtown Charleston, Todd suggested going to Hampton Park to throw in a nature scenery into the mix. Being very open to our suggestions, Emily and her parents thought it was a fantastic idea. Although there are a few parks downtown we could have chosen from, these parks are rich with green and very little other colors. Hampton Park is a secluded park located next to The Citadel that is very quiet and uncrowded; the perfect combination for a photoshoot. Here Todd was able to work with vibrant colors of plants that provided Emily and her parents a nice change of pace from the rustic downtown area.
