King Street Studios – Site Tour

Our website has some pretty cool features, and we wanted to make sure that you know how to use them all. On this page we’ll give you the rundown on how to get around, how to use all of the helpful features, and how to find exactly what you’re looking for.
Home Page
Welcome to Portland Photographers King Street Studios. Here’s where it all starts. We’ve worked hard to bring you an easy-to-navigate page that is fast, fast, fast! It’s pretty straightforward, so you probably won’t need the help, but just in case you do – here it is!

Our homepage is broken into three parts. There’s navigation at the top, Wedding and Portrait galleries in the middle and the most recent posts to our blog on the bottom.

You can get where you want to go by using either the navigation bar at the top of the page or by clicking the appropriate gallery link in the middle of the page. If you’re on a computer, then the dropdown menus are perfect for you. If you’re on a mobile device, then the gallery links are the way to go.
Here in the middle section, you’ll find big, vivid photographs which serve as links to our galleries. From here you can get to any gallery on the site. Just click on the one you want to see! Because they’re so big, you can access them easily, whether you’re on a computer, tablet or smart phone.

All the way at the bottom, you’ll find our six most current posts. These are our most recent photographs and they’ll give you a good idea of what we’ve been up to. If you want to see similar posts, you can check out the tag cloud in the sidebar. You’ll also find more posts under the “BLOG” tab on the navigation bar. The newest stuff will always be on top.

Galleries
To make my portfolios easy to explore, I've broken them down into subcategories. The first portfolio called "Highlights" is a general highlight gallery with a little bit of everything to get a taste of my style throughout everything I do. From there you can find the category that interest's you most and look at more examples of just those types of photographs.

It’s easy to access a portfolio. In fact, you can get to any portfolio three different ways! First, you can do it by utilizing the navigation tabs atop every page. When you click on a heading, a drop down menu will provide you with more options. Click the name of the portfolio you want and you’ll be directed there immediately. The second way is to click that same navigation tab. Instead of clicking the name of a portfolio, you can scroll through the drop down images and select the portfolio from there. The third way is by clicking on any of the portfolio thumbnails located on the home and gallery pages.
Gallery Sliders
Our galleries are set on a timer, which will automatically scroll through photos. You can move at your own pace by taking advantage of the gallery slider. Below each gallery is a strip of thumbnails. Clicking on any of those smaller images will bring up the big image, front and center. If you want to see them all, you can click the right or left arrows that appear on the main image when you hover your cursor on it.

Below the slider, you’ll find valuable information about the associated photo package.
Blog

Our blog posts keep you in the loop and show you what kind of photographs we’ve been shooting. On the left you’ll find the post associated with each of our most recent sessions. Click on any post to read more about that particular shoot. On the right is a sidebar. It’s there that you’ll find our RSS feed, social media icons, tag cloud, a quick list of recent posts, and our instagram feed.

Social Sharing
We love sharing your photos as much as we love taking them! That’s why we made it easy. Every page with images has social media icons. For many pictures, you can share them on Pinterest by placing your cursor over the image and clicking the button when it appears (1). At the bottom of every page, below the text, there are also social media icons (2). Click those to share on your favorite outlet. If you use the Pinterest button at the bottom, you’ll have the opportunity to share one, two or all of the images on a page.

Facebook, Twitter, Google+ and Tumblr links will also give you the opportunity to write a message to your connections.
If you scroll a little further below the social media icons, you’ll find a section called “Related Posts.” From here you can navigate to other parts of our website that are similar to what you’re already looking at. Portrait pages will refer you to portrait pages and wedding pages to wedding pages. It’s an easy way to jump from page to page without starting over from the beginning.

The navigation bar at the top never disappears, so you can always find a new gallery that way, too.
Pricing

If you’re curious about how much it’s going to cost, you need to check out the pricing tab. All wedding related sessions (including engagement pictures and bridal portraits) are under the sub-menu called “Wedding Prices.” All the portraits you can find in the sub-menu called “Portrait Prices.”
